چکیده

Abstract Oxygen is a critical gas for medical and industrial settings. Much of today's global oxygen supply via inefficient technologies such as cryogenic distillation, membranes or zeolites. Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) promise superior alternative separation, their fundamental chemistry can in principle be tailored reversible selective capture. We evaluate the characteristics uptake by MOFs, focussing on redox‐active sites. Key separation also seen MOFs storage roles. Engineering solutions to release adsorbed from are discussed including Temperature Swing Adsorption (TSA), Pressure (PSA) highly efficient Magnetic Induction (MISA). conclude with applications outlooks capture, release, likely impacts next generation will have industry broader community.

Recent advances in carbon dioxide capture with metalorganic frameworks

Uncontrolled massive release of the primary greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) into atmosphere from anthropogenic activities poses a big threat and adversely affects our global climate and natural environment. One promising approach to mitigate CO2 emission is carbon capture and storage (CCS), in which ideal adsorbent materials with high storage capacity and excellent adsorption selectivity ov...

Drug delivery and controlled release from biocompatible metalorganic frameworks using mechanical amorphization

We have used a family of Zr-based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with different functionalized (bromo, nitro and amino) and extended linkers for drug delivery. We loaded the materials with the fluorescent model molecule calcein and the anticancer drug a-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid (a-CHC), and consequently performed a mechanical amorphization process to attempt to control the delivery of gues...

Crystalline metal-organic frameworks (MOFs): synthesis, structure and function.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a class of hybrid network supramolecular solid materials comprised of organized organic linkers and metal cations. They can display enormously high surface areas with tunable pore size and functionality, and can be used as hosts for a range of guest molecules. Since their discovery, MOFs have experienced widespread exploration for their applications in gas st...

Nanoparticles of lanthanide oxysulfate/oxysulfide for improved oxygen storage/release.

Lanthanide oxysulfates have the ability to store and release large volumes of oxygen under oxidizing/reducing conditions, rendering them interesting as automotive catalysts. Herein we demonstrate a remarkable improvement of both processes by utilization of nanoparticles compared to the bulk materials. A further improvement of the catalytic activity was achieved by cost-effective doping with 1.9...

A thermodynamic tank model for studying the effect of higher hydrocarbons on natural gas storage in metalorganic frameworks

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are promising materials for storing natural gas in vehicular applications. Evaluation of these materials has focused on adsorption of pure methane, although commercial natural gas also contains small amounts of higher hydrocarbons such as ethane and propane, which adsorb more strongly than methane. There is, thus, a possibility that these higher hydrocarbons will...
